Thurrock apprenticeship levy transfers

Thurrock Council are an apprenticeship levy payer and have been able to invest in high-quality apprenticeship training to develop our skilled workforce and recruit apprentices. Government rules allow us to transfer up to 25% of our levy funds to support other employers to improve the skills and knowledge of the local workforce through apprenticeships.

Employers can use this funding either for new apprentices or for current employees who undertake a new apprenticeship. Funds can be used towards training and assessment to meet apprenticeship standards.

Funds cannot be used for apprentices that have already started their apprenticeship.

Who can apply for funding?

Employers applying for funding:

  • Must be registered on the apprenticeship service. If you don’t already have an account you can register at gov.uk. Please find guidance in the “Advice and support” section below.
  • Must have an agreement with the Education and Skills Funding Agency. (ESFA). (This will be set up when you register on the apprenticeship service.)
  • Must be based in Thurrock
