Can you give a young person an opportunity with Kickstart?

Government funded initiative to help tackle youth unemployment- find out how you can get involved

The Kickstart Scheme is a government initiative that provides funding for the creation of 6 months paid work placements, for 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit and at risk of long term unemployment.  As part of the government’s Plan for Jobs, the scheme is hoped to create hundreds and thousands of new jobs with the first opportunities available November onwards.

Employers are funded to pay the salaries and National Insurance contributions for each young person’s placement, up to 25 hours per week.  Working with internal and external partners, each young person will receive tailored training and support to enable a successful experience and smooth transition into employment at the end of the 6 months.

TCHC is working with businesses to:

  • Administer the scheme on their behalf, each employer only needs a single vacancy and we will collate as an intermediary on behalf of all the employers, combining applications from multiple organisations to hit the Government's need for at least 30 placement requests per application
  • Provide the essential employability training needed to align with the scheme's funding requirements

This scheme will help open doors to a brighter future for a new generation and to ensure businesses can bounce back stronger in the economy.

The sign up process is very quick and easy, if you have vacancies available all you need to do is click on the link below and submit your company and vacancy details:
