Tilbury CLLD start up and small (SME) business improvement grants

What is it?

Grant funding of £123,000 is available through Tilbury CLLD, led by Thurrock Council, to help local businesses start up and grow. The minimum sized grant application is £2,000, with £1,000 of funding provided by the Tilbury CLLD grant and the remaining £1,000 funded by the business. The maximum project size is £8,000.

Who can apply

Available to people starting up a business or a small business started within the last 3 years in Tilbury. Start-up companies can apply for grant funding if they are in Tilbury St Chads or Tilbury Riverside & Thurrock Park Wards. Please use the postcode checker to make sure you are eligible.

  • Phone systems and mobile phones
  • Website development costs
  • Signage
  • Advertising your business
  • IT software
  • Business certification and accreditation
  • External consultants
  • Facilities hire

Low Carbon Across the South East (LoCASE)

What is it?

The Low Carbon Across the South East (LoCASE) programme is supported by the European Regional Development Fund to provide a free business support programme in the South East. LoCASE provides grants for businesses of up to £20,000 as well as training workshops and fully funded events. Its aim is to help businesses become more competitive and profitable while protecting the environment and encouraging low carbon solutions.

Who can apply?

SME’s (Small-Medium sized businesses) in Essex, Kent and East Sussex.

What is funded?

Grants are focused on energy efficiency projects, examples of which could include;

  • Energy efficient lighting for offices
  • New heating systems, boilers or upgrades such as new burners
  • Air recirculation systems
  • Renewables for heat & electricity generation

South East Business Boost (SEBB)

What is it?

Grant programme for SME’s looking to expand. Financial support as well as workshops. Capital grants of between £1,000 to £10,000 (30% intervention rate) for eligible goods and services. Grants are for a broad range of projects that businesses either have ongoing, or are about to start, that will support their growth. Case Studies are available from businesses who have been awarded grants.

Who can apply?

New and existing SMEs (including start-ups) in all sectors who are looking to access specific and specialist business support or grant funding. Based in Essex, Kent and East Sussex.
